For surveillance purposes: How to extend your webcam
By using a USB extension cable v2.0
shielded type (Male to Female), we tested 3 different USB extension
cable lengths. The 5 meters, 10 meters and the 15 meters (49.213 Feet)
without using a repeater.
Here are the results from its Data signal, Picture Clarity and its
Audio visibility test. So it is clear, that the effective length using a
USB extensions without a repeater is 10 meters (32.808 Feet).
